The September edition of the Albemarle Family Magazine includes an article by Katherine Ludwig about UVA’s Child Development Labs and featuring my photographs, including a series from the Child Affective Facial Expression Set.

We are still looking for Indian/South Asian and Hispanic children ages 4-to-6 to participate in the creation of the set! Call the Child Study Center at 434.243.5234 for more details.

A senior shoot: classic and industrial

This was my first senior shoot! Sadie is the sweetest, and starting her senior year in high school, she wanted to do a special portrait session. She was really open-minded about the location, so we got to shoot a little in the studio, and then headed out to the edge of Fifeville to make use of the train tracks and awesome mosaic. Then we went on to Woolen Mills for some industrial backdrops.

I had so much fun doing this shoot, and I’d love to do more! Does your senior need pictures? Email me!

Wedding: Paige & Elliot

Paige & Elliot’s wedding was absolutely beautiful! It was my first Jewish wedding, and it was a blast! Held at the Colonnade Club on grounds at the University of Virginia, we were imbedded within loads of Jeffersonian architecture. The hot summer weather let up just enough for them to have a pleasant ceremony. The flowers and details were gorgeous, coordinated by Beehive Events. Catering was by my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville: the C&O. The ever-intelligent Steve Gong was my assistant. Lastly, the mood was lively and lovely, and the couple was sweet as can be. Congrats, you two!

July marks the one-year anniversary of moving into the warehouse studio, so it seems appropriate to update my portfolio to include work completed over the past year! Check it out by perusing the “Portfolio” drop-down list in the menu above.

Of particular note are the maternity and newborn galleries, which largely feature work done in the warehouse!

A Charlottesville Writer’s New Digs: Sneak Peek

When local Charlottesville writer, swing dancer, and innovator, Chelsea Main, came to me asking to do a photo shoot, I was thrilled! I first met Chelsea through an exchange on Craigslist, and now know her as one of the most idea-driven people I’ve ever met. This is a lady that makes stuff happen. (And I LOVE ladies like that!)

This is just a sneak peek, because these photos will soon be up on a website featuring her writing work, and I do not want to spoil the surprise!
