Lulu at Pippin Hill Farm

Lulu loves Pippin Hill. Especially the grassy knoll overlooking the mountains: every time we set her down on that grass, she starts running and laughing hysterically. Who knew that a 12 month old could get such a kick out of a mountain view?

Here are a few shots taken on a beautiful March day, using a Hasselblad 500C and Fuji Acros 100 black & white film.

Close Friends: Joanna’s Portrait in Film

Joanna is one of the smartest, warmest and thoughtful people I’ve ever known. (And she’s a scientist!) We chose one dress and a very special ring for her to wear for her portrait. Both gorgeous and both sentimental to her.

Shot on my new Hasselblad 501CM, using Fuji Neopan Acros 100 and Ilford Delta 3200 film.

The sweet, sweet way this little girl treats her younger brother is just precious.

Fab Five Thursday: A happy little baby girl’s portrait

This week I am sharing one session a day from this winter’s Fabulous Five Days.

This sweet little baby was pure smiles for all 5 minutes of her Fab Five session. It was the perfect time to take her portrait, not only because she was happy, but also because she isn’t quite crawling yet. When infants start crawling, it becomes more challenging to get their portrait. The perfect window for infant portraits is after they’ve mastered sitting-up, but aren’t quite mobile yet!

Look how happy she is!  Don’t these pictures put a huge smile on your face??

Fab Five Wednesday: Portraits with a 2-month-old & Spring/Summer Fab Five Dates Announced!

Quick announcement before moving on to today’s session: Fabulous Five Spring/Summer 2012 dates have been announced! Head on over to the new Fab Five Page to check out the dates and sign up! Space is very limited, and upcoming dates fill up fast, so book as soon as you can to get your time slot of choice.

This adorable family came in asking for a reproduction of an heirloom family portrait. They wanted the exact picture below, with mom looking over her shoulder with baby – a perfect pose for a 2-month-old who can hold his head up but can’t quite sit up on his own yet! And to top it off, this mom is wearing a gorgeous handmade floral dress that she bought in France. Just beautiful.

They also chose to include the baby’s aunt in the photos, which is a fantastic idea for a Fab Five Day session. These 5-minute sessions are especially perfect for grandparents, aunts, or uncles  to bring in their grandchildren, nieces & nephews for a quick extended family portrait!
