Three Children’s Portraits in 5 Minutes

You can now find all information about Fab 5 day on the new Fab 5 day website!

If you had asked me a month ago if I could capture adorable photos of three children in 5 minutes, I would have said no, flat out. But then Fabulous Five Day came along, and a paradigm that I just can’t get out of my head…what if you could have not just a portrait session, but an awesome experience in downtown Charlottesville at the same time? What if you could nab a few photos of your rapidly growing children, or update your headshot, or get a quick picture of your child with their grandparents without breaking the bank? Afterward, you get 5-to-10 high resolution pictures that you can share for years to come, as well as cupcakes from Sweethaus: perfect post-session bribery for folks who don’t love getting their picture taken, or icing on the cake for those that do! Sure beats going to Sears or the mall to get  a picture done!

This is another fun family from February’s Fabulous Five Day. These clients ended up with the full 10-pictures, and I’ve posted all 10 below. Such a sweet group.:)

The whole Fab Five Day experience is only $85, and the next one is March 3rd. Space is limited, so email me now to reserve your spot!

Close Friends: A Portrait of Jackie

Jackie and I met back in college, when we were both a part of the Fashion Design Club at UVa. She had walked into a photo shoot to participate as a model. At the time, I was a rather shy photographer at FDC, a sort of tomboy shooting a bunch of gorgeous models, and it was intimidating! But Jackie walked in and turned on a song she’d just discovered, Coin Operated Boy by the Dresden Dolls. I knew immediately that I’d found a fellow spunky semi-hipster tomboy, and we clicked immediately.

For this shoot, we shot in both 35mm and medium format film, a mix of Fuji Neopan 400 and Fuji Neopan Acros 100.

Fantastic portraits. Jackie is a natural & it looks like you are too! Love the lost art of mood portrature, beautifully conveyed thru black & white film photography. Great work, can’t wait to see more! BTW, Jackie is my sis in law :)

Fantastic work as always Cat. Jackie is a natural in front of the camera. A beauty indeed. I too love the B&W.

The Next Fabulous Five Day is March 3rd!

You can now find all information about Fab 5 day on the new Fab 5 day website!

February’s Fab Five event was so incredibly fun and happy that I’ve decided to schedule another one in March!

What is so wonderful about Fab Five is how easy it is for families: the five minute session allows just enough time to get great formal pictures of kids but still allows them enough time for them to loosen up and give us some authentic expressions. Afterward, heading next door to Sweethaus for a treat finalizes the goodness of it all!

Within 24 hours each person gets 5-to-10 perfect high resolution digital images delivered to them via direct download and an online gallery. Clients can share this gallery with family and friends so that they can also download these high resolution photos, buy prints and more.

Check out one of my favorite Fabulous Five sessions for an example of one family’s 10 framable photos from our first Fab Five!

The next Fabulous Five Day is March 3rd from 10:30am to 4pm: 5 framable pictures in 5 fantastic minutes, and $5 of goodies from Sweethaus! On 3/3/12 come to the studio to pose for 5 minutes, eat $5 worth of cupcakes or candy, and receive 5-to-10 perfect pictures in high resolution digital format, all for just $85.

By appointment only. Space is limited. Email cat@catthrasher.com.

Looking forward to seeing you there.:)
