Portraits of Children in the Blue Ridge on a Rainy Day

This is the Virginia countryside in its full glory. In between late fall rain showers, we managed to snap a few portraits of these two boys getting a little damp in the grass and gravel surrounding their family’s pond in Free Union. Despite the dying foliage, the rain gives the hillside a beautiful, dark contrast. Paired with a graceful layer of mist, the mountains are transformed into something romantic and alive.
